TOP CHEEZ OPEN RINK: 3V3 Mini Round Ribi Tournament Structure
Event Overview
Welcome to the TOP CHEEZ OPEN RINK, Mix'd Tapes 3v3 Roller Hockey Tournament. This exhilarating event brings together elite roller hockey teams to compete for substantial cash prizes, awards, and the glory of being crowned champions. Between our OPEN RINK Mix’d Tapes Pro Tour, the 3v3 event is designed to provide a full day of competitive play and entertaining contests, engaging both players and fans alike.
Registration and Participation
- Team Registration: Up to 13 teams can register for each event location.
- Team Composition: Each team must consist of at least 3 players, which includes a goaltender.
- Registration Fee: $200 per team.
- Registration Deadline: One week before the event date.
- Eligibility: Open to all Elite and professional roller hockey teams.
Event Format Structure
1. Round Robin (2-game minimum for each team).
2. Single-elimination Playoffs.
3. Games lasting 30 minutes each (20 minutes play + 5 minutes warm-up + 5 minutes reset).
4. Breaks every 1-2 hours for rink maintenance and player rest.
5. Each team will play two round robin games, and then the top teams will move into a single-elimination playoff bracket.
Scoring: Traditional hockey scoring 2 points, with a twist:
- A goal from the blue line is worth 2 point.
- A Goalie score 2 points
- A goal from inside the red zone (near the net) is worth 2 points.
- Bonus Ball: 2 points
- Sudden Death Round: Format If tied a 2-minute sudden death period follows.
3. Tie-Breaker Format
- First Tie-Breaker: 2v2 Showdown
- If still tied after the sudden death round, each team selects 2 skaters.
- A 2-minute 2v2 round ensues with no goalies; skaters must defend their own net.
- Second Tie-Breaker: 1v1 Duel
If still tied after the 2v2, it’s time for the ultimate showdown.
Each team selects one player for a 1-minute 1v1 duel.
- The winner is determined by the first goal scored, or the player with the most shots on net if no goals are scored.
4. Special Features
- Ribi Points: Throughout the tournament, players earn Ribi Points for unique plays such as saucer passes, toe drags, or sick dekes. These points can be used to break any non-game-related ties in the standings.
- Crowd Boost: A fan-voted "Crowd Boost" allows the most popular player (based on cheers) to take a penalty shot at the end of each game, regardless of the score.
5. Final Round
- 3v3 Free-for-All: In the final, the teams face off in a 5-minute 3v3 round with no stoppages.
- Champion's Duel: The final game ends with a Champion’s Duel, where the winning team’s top player takes on the best player from the runner-up in a 2-minute 1v1 for bragging rights and extra swag.

- 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Round Robin (14 teams play 2 games each).
- 1:00 PM - 1:30 PM: Break and rink reset.
- 1:30 PM - 5:00 PM: Single-Elimination Playoffs.

- Cash awards and medals will be distributed after the championship game.
Key Notes:
- Each team will have at least 2 round robin games.
- Playoff brackets are seeded based on round robin results.
- One rink will host the championship, while the other handles consolation/third place games.
