The Top Cheez Sports Initiative is a 501(c)(3) Colorado nonprofit dedicated to growing ball hockey through culturally relevant, community-first programs that create access, excitement, and opportunity—especially for underserved youth and nontraditional hockey communities.

We believe hockey shouldn’t require private rinks, expensive gear, or exclusive clubs. It should be played in the open, with sneakers, a stick, and a passion for the game.

Our mission is simple:
Break the barriers. Grow the game. Change the culture.

Our Core Programs

Hockey Without Boundaries (HWB)
Our flagship youth ball hockey program brings hockey to schools, parks, and neighborhoods that have historically been left out of the sport. HWB includes:

• Learn to Play instructional clinics (with free sticks, balls, and shirts)

• Middle School & High School Leagues (school-based teams and community support)

• A progression pathway from beginner to competitive player

OPEN RINK Pro Roller Hockey Tour
A semi-pro and elite-level ball hockey tour that celebrates culture, creativity, and competition—with music, style, and street-level energy that reflects a new generation of hockey fans and athletes.
It serves as the aspirational tier for youth to grow into, and a showcase of what hockey can be when it’s reimagined through a modern lens.

Why We Exist

Traditional hockey models—especially ice hockey—have become too exclusive, too expensive, and too disconnected from the reality of most American families. Kids in urban areas, immigrant communities, and lower-income schools are often shut out before they even get a chance to try.

We’re changing that.

We believe the future of hockey starts on pavement—not just in rinks.

• Create structured, affordable leagues that build confidence, leadership, and teamwork

• Use sports to unite neighborhoods, bridge school communities, and inspire local pride

• Support equity in sports by prioritizing programs in underserved areas
