What is HWB?

Hockey Without Boundaries is an inclusive, beginner-friendly hockey program designed to introduce new players to the sport, regardless of background or experience. Hockey Without Boundaries (HWB) is a grassroots initiative designed to introduce new players to the sport of hockey in an accessible and exciting way. It serves as a foundational program within the larger TOP CHEEZ Swag Growth Initiative, which includes the TOP CHEEZ OPEN RINK Pro Tour and Mix’d Tapes. Together, these programs create a full-circle development pathway, from first-time players to competitive club athletes and beyond.

The TOP CHEEZ OPEN RINK Pro Tour and Mix’d Tapes bring elite-level roller hockey to communities, creating excitement and exposure for the sport. HWB ensures that young players—especially those from non-traditional hockey backgrounds—get the opportunity to learn, play, and progress.

HWB provides an Introduction to Hockey experience, followed by a short 5-week league that builds confidence and skills. Players receive a free hockey stick and balls, plenty of TOP CHEEZ swag, and an inclusive environment that fosters community and growth. Those who develop a passion for the sport can advance to state tournaments and club teams, keeping the pathway open for continued participation at higher levels.

By combining grassroots accessibility with elite-level excitement, the TOP CHEEZ initiative, through HWB and the OPEN RINK Pro Tour, is breaking barriers, redefining hockey culture, and bringing new players and fans into the game.
