Event Overview
OPEN RINK YOUTH SHOWCASE The TOP CHEEZ OPEN RINK Youth Showcase is Colorado's premier outdoor youth ball hockey event, bringing together players from across the region for a day of competition, skill development, sportsmanship, and community.
Designed for elementary, middle school, and high school athletes, the Showcase provides every player the opportunity to compete in a fun, fast-paced tournament environment while gaining valuable game experience and creating lasting memories.
More than a championship, the OPEN RINK Youth Showcase celebrates the future of ball hockey.
- Team Registration: Up to 8 teams can register for each event location.
- Team Composition: Each team must consist of at least 6 players, including a goaltender.
- Registration Fee: $85 per player.
- Registration Deadline: One week before the event date.
- Eligibility: Open to all school age ball hockey teams.
Open to boys and girls in the following divisions: • Elementary (Ages 6-10) • Middle School (Ages 11-13) • High School (Ages 14-17)
Team Format Players may register individually or as part of an existing team.
Individual registrations may be placed on a Showcase team if roster space is available.
Registration Fee $85
Registration Deadline One week prior to the event
Round Robin Tournament Play Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three games.
Throughout the Day • Skills Challenge • Accuracy Shooting Challenge • Fastest Shot Competition • Stickhandling Challenge • Goalie Challenge (when applicable)
Tournament Format • Outdoor 5-on-5 Ball Hockey • Minimum three games guaranteed • Championship playoff bracket • Two 12-minute running-time periods • Three-minute halftime • Certified officials • Sportsmanship emphasized throughout competition
Standings Win = 3 Points Tie = 1 Point Loss = 0 Points
Tie-breaking order: • Head-to-Head Result • Goal Differential • Goals Scored • Fewest Goals Against • Coin Toss
Championship Round The top teams from each division advance to a single-elimination playoff. Division Champions are crowned during the Championship Finals.

- 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Check-in and Warm-up
- 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM: Game 1: Team A vs. Team B
- 10:45 AM - 11:30 AM: Game 2: Team C vs. Team D
- 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM: Trick Shots Contest
- 12:00 PM - 12:45 PM: Game 3: Team E vs. Team F
- 12:45 PM - 1:30 PM: Game 4: Team G vs. Team H
- 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM: Top Cheez CLANK Contest
- 2:00 PM - 2:45 PM: Game 5: Team A vs. Team C
- 2:45 PM - 3:30 PM: Game 6: Team B vs. Team D
- 3:30 PM - 4:00 PM: Skill Break and Refreshment
- 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM: Game 7: Team E vs. Team G
- 4:45 PM - 5:30 PM: Game 8: Team F vs. Team H
- 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM: Semi-final 1 (Top 1 vs. Top 4)
- 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Semi-final 2 (Top 2 vs. Top 3)
Tournament Format - Round Robin: Each team will play 2 games in the round robin stage.
- Game Duration: Each game will consist of two 20-minute halves with a 5-minute intermission.
- Points System: Win = 3 points, Tie = 1 point, Loss = 0 points.
- Tiebreakers: In case of a tie in the standings, the following criteria will be used in order: 1. Goal Difference 2. Goals For 3. Head-to-head result 4. Shootout (if needed)
Playoffs - The top 4 teams based on points from the round robin will advance to the semi-finals. - Semi-finals will be single elimination. - The winners of the semi-finals will compete in the Championship Game.

Division Champions receive: OPEN RINK Youth Showcase Championship Trophy
Additional individual awards include: • Most Valuable Player (MVP) • Top Goal Scorer • Playmaker Award (Most Assists) • Outstanding Goaltender • Sportsmanship Award • Future Star Award
The OPEN RINK Youth Showcase is about recognizing effort, character, teamwork, and skill while celebrating the next generation of ball hockey players. - Each player receives an OPEN RINK Swag Bag Bundle.
Contests and Awards - Trick Shots Contest: A showcase of individual skill and creativity, judged by a panel.
- Top Cheez CLANK Contest: Players attempt to hit the top post to produce the signature "clank" sound, earning points for accuracy.
- MVP Award: Given to the most outstanding player of the tournament.
- Most Assists Award: Awarded to the player with the highest number of assists.
- Most Goals Award: Awarded to the player with the highest number of goals.
