Code of Conduct Applies to all participants in Hockey Without Boundaries (HWB) and the OPEN RINK Pro Tour
Our mission is to create a bold, inclusive, and respectful environment where the game of roller and ball hockey can thrive — on the rink and in the community. Whether you're a player, parent, coach, or fan, you’re a key part of this movement. By participating in HWB or the OPEN RINK Pro Tour, you agree to uphold the following standards of conduct.
PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT
As a player, I will:
Respect the game by playing fair, competing with integrity, and following the rules.
Support my teammates and treat opponents with sportsmanship, win or lose.
Listen to my coaches, accept feedback, and play with hustle and pride.
Control my emotions on and off the rink — no trash talk that crosses the line, no violence, and no tolerance for hate.
Represent the culture of TOP CHEEZ and HWB by leading with effort, attitude, and respect.
Any form of fighting, intentional injury, repeated verbal abuse, or willful misconduct may result in ejection from the event or league — and possible suspension from future programs.
PARENT & GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT
As a parent/guardian, I will:
Encourage and support my child in a positive and respectful way — never coach from the sidelines or argue with officials.
Respect all participants, including players, officials, coaches, and other families, regardless of ability or background.
Embrace the mission of growing an accessible, inclusive hockey community for all kids.
Let the game belong to the players, not the adults.
Disruptive or disrespectful behavior may lead to removal from the venue and possible loss of attendance privileges at future events.
COACH CODE OF CONDUCT
As a coach, I will:
Lead by example in effort, language, and how I treat others — including opposing coaches and refs.
Build a team culture grounded in respect, fairness, and accountability.
Focus on development over domination, especially in HWB youth programs.
Promote inclusion, encourage all skill levels, and embrace the responsibility of being a role model.
Coaches who fail to uphold these standards may face review, suspension, or removal from the program.
SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT
As a spectator or fan, I will:
Bring the energy, not the drama — cheer loud, but never taunt, boo, or heckle players, officials, or other fans.
Celebrate clean competition and support athletes of all backgrounds and skill levels.
Respect the venue by keeping it clean, safe, and welcoming to everyone.
Be part of the vibe — not the problem.
Hate speech, threatening behavior, or ongoing disruption will result in removal from the event, no warnings needed.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
We have zero tolerance for:
Physical violence or threats
Racist, sexist, or discriminatory language
Bullying, hazing, or harassment
Vandalism or theft
Use of drugs, alcohol, or vaping during youth events
Violations may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban from all HWB and OPEN RINK events.
WE PLAY DIFFERENT
At HWB and the OPEN RINK Pro Tour, we’re not just building hockey events — we’re building a culture. One built on respect, creativity, grit, and inclusion. When you show up, you’re not just part of a game — you’re part of the movement.
Let’s keep it positive, keep it real, and grow the game the right way.
